Activities in Long Beach Island (L.B.I)
Long Beach Island is a wonderful destination spot in the summer. Beautiful beaches, family friendly and the perfect place to relax. You can do it all or simply bask in the sun. Here we have rounded up a few fun activities that we love to take part in at L.B.I.
RIDE
Ride the Rollar Coaster, Bumper Cars, and Ferris Wheel at Fantasty Island. The carnival is small but perfect for children and adults of all ages. Open 7 days a week throughout the summer, a must if you are stopping by L.B.I.
EAT
The Show Place Ice Cream Parlor is a great family ice cream joint that makes you sing for your treat. Waiters and Waitresses entertain the crowd by singing and dancing but expect you to be prepared to join in as well. So bring your sweet tooth and vocals to the Show Place!
CYCLE
One of my all time favorite activities in L.B.I. is renting bicycles and strolling the streets. With dozens of bicycle rentals throughout the strip of L.B.I, we make sure to snag a double bicycle trailer that we attach to the bike to bring our two little ones in tow.
TOUR
Located on the northern tip of L.B.I., the 40-foot Lighthouse located on at Barnegat is the second tallest lighthouse in the United States. Open seven days a week from 10am to 4:30pm, the lighthouse is a fun steep climb where adults and children can climb for a nominal fee the 217 steps that lead to the top.
PLAY
We certainly do not go to L.B.I. to stay indoors and play the arcades but at Fantasy Island, the arcade is always the perfect spot on a rainy or cold day where the kids can enjoy skee-ball, crane games and more. For some reason my children say this is one of their highlights but that is fine as long as they are happy.
